Challenges
In recent decades, the Hawesko Group has developed from a classic catalogue mail order business to a leading retailer for high-quality wine and champagne. Since 2006, Hawesko’s 3PL subsidiary IWL relies on a logistics ecosystem based on Infios’s WMS to serve a growing customer base. Driven by sudden increase in demand in online order business across 2020 and 2021, the Tornesch warehouse reached its capacity limits due to the increased volume of orders and personnel.
Solution and Benefits
A solution that was both efficient and space-saving was required, offering a high degree of flexibility against the backdrop of seasonal fluctuations and growing staff shortages in logistics. The decision was made to comprehensively expand the previous storage area, built on an integrated system platform and implement an autonomous mobile robotics system in cooperation with Geekplus. By using an integrated software solution, Hawesko and IWL can respond to peaks in demand effectively.
